CEBU -- THE RENOWNED QUEEN CITY OF THE SOUTH

Cebu city is the oldest city in the Philippines. Hence, it surely follows that it has a lot to offer to tourists. There are lots of things to do and places to visit in this dynamic city. There are many restaurants to dine in, beaches or islands to explore, mountains to climb and many more adventurous spots to choose from.

It was fortunate for me to keep coming back to Cebu. So, I know the place better than before. I had my own share of Cebu adventures. Come and let's take a look at the places that I have been to last May of 2015.

LA VIE PARISIENNE

Upon looking at my friend's pictures, I was intrigued where this place is. I thought they were in Japan or some place outside the country.

This French bakery offers a glamorous in a day and much more at night time. The pink trees around are almost similar to the popular "cherry blossoms". Because of this, the people are attracted to stay and try their bread and wine. I would say their croissant is delish. For curiosity and adventure's sake, this is a definite must-try!

It is located at Gorordo Avenue, Lahug, Cebu City. They are open even on holidays. Here is the store's schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:00 AM - Weekdays, 7:00 AM - 4:00 AM - Weekends.

CAMOTES ISLAND

I was so inspired to bring out the adventurous side of me. So, I googled the way to this virgin island called Camotes. I found a blog: http://mytravelremedy.com/camotes-day-trip/. You can follow this if you are planning for a day trip. However, in my case, we stayed overnight so we get to appreciate the island at night.

We took a taxi from the city to the terminal. (Cost: P50 - P100). Then, we rode a bus (Ceres Liner) from the North Bus Terminal going to Danao. (Cost: P50). Upon arrival, we had to choose to different options for transportation: Jomalia Shipping or Super Shuttle RJR Ferry. When we got there, we weren't able to catch the Super Shuttle RJR. Here's the schedule of the both shipping companies:

Captured this during our trip.

Suggestion: For your convenience, take the Jomalia because of its several time of departures. Also, you can take a nap better if you choose the air-conditioned room.

While waiting for the boat, we had our breakfast. After which, we were able to leave for Consuelo port before lunch time. You have two choices: (Cost: Air-conditioned - P200 or Deluxe - P180).

We were asked to write our names as we reserve seats for the boat.

There were plenty of food choices available in the waiting area.

Upon arrival, lots of multi cabs and "habal-habal" (single motor) were waiting. If you are in a group, you can ride a multi cab. Since is was hot, we decided to ride a multi cab. (Cost: P50 - P100) going to Santiago Bay Garden Resort.

After checking in, we paid the remaining accommodation payment. (Total cost: P1500). Then, we decided to go to "SuTuKil" Sugba (Grilled) Tuwa (Stew) and Kilaw (Raw seafood bathed in vinegar) restaurant. (Cost: P150 - P300)

Checking in!

Around 1:00 PM we had a tour around the island for only P500. We went to Bakhaw beach, Lake Danao, Timubo Cave, Buho Rock Resort and Baywalk.

Bakhaw Beach: It is a virgin beach!

Revel in the huge Lake Danao. <3

You can swim inside the Timubo Cave! Of course, the water is colder than the sea water.

OSLOB

My friends came so we rented a van going to Oslob. We left Cebu city in the afternoon so we arrived late at night. It was really an adventure because we didn't have enough time to book a room for us to stay. We hopped on from one place to another.

In the morning, we had simple breakfast for a reasonable price. We went whale shark-watching and swimming.

The group is getting ready to meet the gentle giants!

After that, we rented a boat crossing Sumilon Island. It is known for it's spotless beach. The gang enjoyed swimming and taking pictures under the sun. We paid roughly P 1, 500 for ten people.

White sand!!!

The crew!

We also experienced the magnificent Tumalog Falls. We rode a "habal-habal". You also have the choice to walk especially if you have the luxury of time. Going there, we saw a large number of foreign people.

At that time, the water flow wasn't so generous. Still, it didn't stop the people to enjoy swimming and appreciate the waterfalls.

Upon coming home, we took the time stopping by some historical places and exhilarating views such as the Oslob Musem and compound.

This is a fire tree. For me, the view is so relaxing.

We passed by this view too!

SIMALA

Going back to the city, we decided to visit Sibonga known for Simala Church. It is the place for people who believes in miracles. It is famous for the crying statue of Mother Mary of the Catholic Christians. It is a a solemn place. We prayed and felt the presence of the Lord in the place.

Important: They follow a dress code. ( < --- click this for the link)

Alas! We arrived in the city. But wait! How can we forget the famous Taboan known for its various souvenir items and delicacies. There were dried fishesand other stuff that Cebu and other cities are famous for. We bought otap, chicharon, dried mangoes and many more.

After buying some souvenirs, we dined in the so called "AA Barbecue". There is a variety of seafood and meat to choose from waiting to be grilled or cooked as you desired.

Our Cebu trip together with my friends was truly an adventure! It was totally worth it. I can't wait for the next one!

Note: After this, we sent them to Fuente Pension House. They decided to extended their vacation in Bohol which is a two-hour ferry ride from Cebu.
